A resident of Mykolaiv region and his friends paid $10,000 for advice on how to leave Ukraine (video)
In the Odessa region, border guards apprehended a 22-year-old resident of Mykolaiv and his four companions who were attempting to exit Ukraine.
This information was reported by the border service.
Near one of the villages in the Razdelnyansky district, the Podilsk border detachment stopped the driver and four passengers. The vehicle's movement was detected using technical border security equipment.
The 22-year-old driver from Mykolaiv intended to cross the state border and smuggle four residents from Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions through the Transnistrian segment of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
To execute their plan, the men sought assistance from an admin of a Telegram channel, who provided advice on crossing the border without obstacles for a fee. Without any guarantees of successful passage, the violators transferred a total of $10,000 to the advisor's crypto wallet.
While attempting to breach the border, the vehicle got stuck in mud, prompting the men to abandon the car and continue on foot. It is noted that the driver left his companions and ran towards the border. However, all the men were captured by the border guards.
For the attempt of illegal border crossing, administrative offense protocols were drawn up against the five men under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempt of illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine," and the cases have been forwarded to court.
