Restoration of Water Supply: Mykolaiv to Gain Experience from US Water Utilities

The Exchange for Ukraine Programme is launching in Mykolaiv – an international initiative aimed at sharing expertise between leading water utilities in the USA and ten Ukrainian water supply companies.

This program is implemented with the support of Mykolaiv Water Hub, Leading Utilities, and the US Water Partnership, and is focused on restoring, modernizing, and enhancing the efficiency of water supply in Ukraine, writes "Mykolaivvodokanal".

Ukrainian water utilities from Mykolaiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Lutsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Chernivtsi, Kremenchuk, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr will collaborate with prominent water utilities from Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Arkansas, Washington, Denver, and Orange County.

"We aim not only to help restore water supply in affected regions but also to create conditions for the sustainable development of the entire sector by implementing modern solutions and technologies," notes Mykolaiv Water Hub.

The experience exchange will cover crisis management, public engagement, modern water purification technologies, and energy-efficient solutions.

“In light of the challenges faced by Ukrainian water utilities due to the war, the Exchange for Ukraine Programme aims to establish cooperation with leading experts from the US water sector. Participants from both countries will share best practices in crisis management and response to emergency challenges, corporate governance, public engagement, the use of modern water purification and supply technologies, as well as energy-efficient solutions in water management," the statement reads.
