On the morning of Saturday, January 11, a fire broke out in a private residential house in the village of Ivanovka, part of the Bratsk community in the Voznesensk district.
The report was received on the emergency hotline 101, as stated by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
A unit from the 10th State Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene. It was found that the fire had been extinguished by local residents over a small area before the unit's arrival.
Residents also reported that the nine-year-old son of the homeowners sustained burns, preliminarily classified as third-degree. He was in the room where the fire had likely started due to an electrical short circuit. The boy attempted to escape outside but stumbled, fell, and suffered burns.
The older brother, noticing dense smoke in the house, called for his younger sibling, but he was not visible. When the 15-year-old Dmitry heard his brother's cries, he rushed into the room, found him, and helped him get outside to fresh air.
The younger brother, Vladislav, was hospitalized, and his condition is being assessed by doctors.
