In Mykolaiv region, you can report expensive medications: where to turn
In February, new mechanisms for state regulation of prices for medicinal products sold through wholesale networks and pharmacies in Ukraine were introduced.
This was reported by the State Consumer Service in the Mykolaiv region.
In particular, the maximum supply and sales markups added by distributors to the wholesale prices of all medicines cannot exceed 8%; the maximum retail markups on purchase prices for medications included in the National List of Essential Medicines and prescription drugs are set between 10% and 25%, depending on the cost of the medication; and the maximum retail markups on over-the-counter medications should not exceed 35% of the purchase prices.
From March 1, scheduled and unscheduled inspections of entities operating in the wholesale and retail trade of drugs and medical devices will resume, regarding compliance with the formation, establishment, and application of state-regulated prices.
If cases of selling medicines at inflated prices are detected, citizens can contact the State Consumer Service and its territorial bodies. It is necessary to provide information about the business entity (individual entrepreneur, LLC, private enterprise, etc.), its location, a list of medications subject to state price regulation, as well as copies of relevant documents (receipts, invoices, photographs of price tags, etc.) for appropriate measures to be taken in accordance with current legislation.
