In Mykolaiv, a school technician failed to open the shelter during an alarm, explaining that she was unaware there would be an alert.
A local resident reported this in a group of the Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council.
“There were explosions around the city, rockets flew over us. I came to class with my child, rockets were roaring, the alarm was blaring. We were in the bomb shelter, but it was locked. We huddled in the corner of the school like a bunch of geese. Then we ran inside the school (maybe we could get in from there), but it was locked. Seriously???? A full school of children (football, dance, karate, aikido), and the bomb shelter is closed. A lock is hanging there. The technician didn’t open it because she didn’t know there would be an alarm. It’s been THREE YEARS of WAR. And she didn’t know,” - wrote a local resident.
The inquiry to the contact center was registered by the Operational Response Service.
