Today, December 25th, the city Christmas tree was unveiled in the children's town "Skazka." Many children gathered for the celebration, entertained by animators dressed as fairy tale characters: the Grinch, a Polar Bear, a Unicorn, and a Gingerbread Man. The event was hosted by a "fairy elf."
This information is reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
The "Grinch" organized contests and tasks for the little ones to complete in order to light the tree.
"The little Mykolaiv residents can handle anything. They easily and joyfully overcame all the challenges, for which they received sweet rewards. However, the tree still wouldn’t light up.
The city mayor, Alexander Senkevich, came to the children's aid. With a cheerful round dance, he circled the tree with the children and uttered magical words — and the square was covered in sparkling confetti,” the message states.
Throughout the event, local creative groups performed for those in attendance.
"Today we are here, together with the children, celebrating Christmas and the upcoming New Year festivities. In total, around 200 different holiday events take place in Mykolaiv in December. Even during the war, we must create conditions for our children to feel the holiday magic. Thanks to our Armed Forces, it is relatively quiet in Mykolaiv today, allowing us to organize such small celebrations for our children," said Mayor Alexander Senkevich.
