In Mykolaiv, residents took to the main street to protect the plane trees (photos included).

On Saturday, January 11, concerned residents of Mykolaiv gathered in the city center for a rally to protect trees that had been pruned earlier in the week by the municipal enterprise "Mykolaiv Parks."

This was reported by a correspondent from "Novosti-N."

A few dozen citizens participated in the rally, holding signs.

They also prepared a collective appeal to the city mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych, and the city council deputies, requesting to halt the trimming of plane trees on Soborna Street, to impose a three-year moratorium on rejuvenating pruning, to stop the crown pruning of non-emergency trees by more than 15%, to establish a working group for maintaining green spaces in Mykolaiv, and to conduct an inventory of all the trees in the city, with approval to follow soon.

Additionally, a meeting of the deputy commission was held in the regional council.
