In Mykolaiv, 100 apartment buildings are without heat, but the heating season is proceeding smoothly, according to the thermal power plant.

101 apartment buildings in Mykolaiv have been without heating since 3 AM — repairs are expected to be completed by 10 PM today.

The head of the board of the Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant, Dmytro Myroshnychenko, commented on this disconnection during a "LIVE" broadcast.

According to him, it is important to understand that this is a planned disconnection.

- We were anticipating a temperature rise outside. Today, the air temperature in Mykolaiv is around 8-10 degrees Celsius, so we planned the work to avoid disturbing our residents during the cooler weeks that have passed and scheduled the repairs when it is relatively warm during the winter period, - explained Myroshnychenko.

In response to a clarifying question about why the planned repairs are set for January 27 instead of during the off-heat season, the representative of the thermal power plant assured that preparations were made.

- Yes, preparation needs to be done in the summer. This year, during the off-heat season, we replaced 12% of the pipelines at the Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant. In the past five years, only 0.2% was replaced. That is, 60 times more than in the previous five years. But what hinders us from working effectively and without accidents? It is the constant strikes on the energy sector from the Russian Federation. Each strike leads to either a major or mini blackout, fluctuations in voltage, and all of this impacts the operation of our pumping equipment. It periodically shuts down, causing pressure changes in the networks — from complete drops to increases two or three times higher. This damages the networks, - explained the representative of the thermal power plant.

At the same time, Dmytro Myroshnychenko emphasized that the heating season in Mykolaiv is proceeding efficiently, timely, and thanks to preparations made during the off-heat period.

- Our consumers — the residents of Mykolaiv, do not experience long-term disconnections, - he assured.
