In 2025, Ukraine will encounter a shortfall of more than half a million qualified workers, posing a significant challenge to the national economy. The deficit will be most acutely felt among specialists in technical fields and skilled trades. This was stated on January 11 by the President of the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, Alexey Miroshnichenko.

He pointed out that the lack of qualified personnel is already having a substantial impact on salary dynamics, raising questions among economists in the context of GDP growth.

"GDP is growing by 4%, while salaries are increasing by 14%. Yes, salary growth should outpace price and GDP growth, but not at such ratios," Miroshnichenko said.

Another important aspect is the competition between public and private sectors. Government institutions offer stability, but the private sector is willing to pay more to attract professionals. According to Miroshnichenko, this leads to increased employee turnover and intensified competition for qualified specialists.
