Threatened neighbor with a grenade: a resident of Mykolaiv region has been placed in pre-trial detention
A report was received by the First Mai Police Department from a 34-year-old local resident stating that a 44-year-old neighbor came to her home in an intoxicated state. According to the complainant, a quarrel ensued during which the neighbor threatened to use a grenade before leaving.
This is reported by the Mykolaiv region police.
“At the scene, during their communication, the police found out that the offender was carrying a grenade in his pocket. Taking all necessary measures to ensure personal and public safety, law enforcement officers seized an F-1 grenade in assembled condition from the man,” – the statement reads.
Investigators detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and notified him of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for “Illegal handling of weapons, military supplies, or explosives.” The sanctions for this article provide for a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention for two months with the possibility of posting bail.
