The TCCs do not have the authority to search for evaders — Ministry of Defense
The delivery of conscripted individuals to territorial recruitment and social support centers under the mobilization law in Ukraine is the responsibility of law enforcement and local authorities, not the military. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Ivan Havryliuk, in an interview with "Ukrinform".
According to him, the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization" assigns certain tasks related to mobilization activities to representatives of government bodies and the National Police of Ukraine.
"For instance, if conscripted citizens of Ukraine do not appear at TCCs during the martial law regime, local authorities and police are responsible for ensuring their delivery. They are granted sufficient authority for this purpose," — explained Ivan Havryliuk.
He noted that TCC and SSP staff are legally tasked only with maintaining military records and selecting citizens for mobilization into the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"I want to emphasize once again that within the framework of mobilization activities, TCCs are responsible only for a specific list of tasks. TCC units are not authorized to search for evaders. This is the responsibility of local authorities and police. If any local authorities are failing in their duties, nothing prevents them from picking up a pen and writing a resignation letter," — added the Deputy Minister.
