Explosion terrorist act in Mykolaiv: preventive measures chosen for high school students

In Mykolaiv, four high school students suspected of carrying out a terrorist act on February 14 were subjected to preventive measures by the court.

This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

The preventive measures were determined by investigating judge Ivan Dirko.

According to the materials of the petition, in January 2025, a 16-year-old suspect began communicating with representatives of the Russian special services online, who proposed creating explosive devices and then handing them over to others for detonating critical infrastructure and individual targets. This was to be compensated with a monetary reward.

Subsequently, under the guidance of FSB representatives, the young man recruited three of his acquaintances, and the teenagers started to produce a homemade explosive device.

In early February 2025, following instructions from a Russian representative, they delivered the explosives to Poltava, where they handed them over to a 42-year-old resident of Poltava region, who was also collaborating with the Russian representatives.

The woman then traveled to Mykolaiv, bringing a backpack filled with explosives to a store near a group of soldiers, after which an explosion occurred, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including the woman herself, and injuring seven others with varying degrees of severity.

During the consideration of the petitions, the suspects acknowledged their guilt and requested that measures not involving detention be applied to them.

As a result of the proceedings, Judge Ivan Dirko decided to apply preventive measures in the form of detention without setting bail.

A video recording has also been published on social media, which allegedly captures the moment of yesterday's explosion near a café in Mykolaiv, according to the caption.

The SBU counterintelligence detained the accomplices of the crime "on the hot trail." They turned out to be four minors from the Poltava region, aged between 14 and 17, who were recruited by the occupiers through Telegram channels searching for "easy money."
