The son strangled his mother in the Mykolaiv region: details of the murder

On October 31, the police station No. 5 in the Mykolaiv district received a report from a resident of the Olshanska community: he discovered the lifeless body of his neighbor in her home.

This was reported by the communication department of the Mykolaiv police.
  Police officers, operatives, and forensic experts quickly arrived at the scene. The preliminary examination by the forensic expert revealed that the woman died as a result of strangulation.

During the investigation, the police determined that the son of the deceased was involved in the crime. On that day, a quarrel occurred between the 54-year-old man and his 77-year-old mother, during which he strangled her with a rope and then attempted to stage a suicide.

The police detained the suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Under the guidance of the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office, he has been charged under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Intentional Murder"). The suspect faces up to 15 years in prison.
