Republican lawmakers in the United States have introduced a bill in Congress for a complete withdrawal of the U.S. from the UN by 2025.

The bill, introduced by Republican Senator Mike Lee from Utah, also includes withdrawal from all agencies associated with the UN and halting funding for this international organization.

“The United Nations has become a platform for tyrants and a venue for attacks on America and its allies. We must stop paying for them,” - he stated.

Senator Lee noted that President Trump prioritized America, thus the U.S. should exit this "fictional organization" and focus on "real alliances that ensure the safety and prosperity of our country."

It is also known that Republican Chip Roy from Texas aims to introduce a similar bill in the House of Representatives, claiming that the UN does nothing.

"Despite all the money and attention, this corrupt globalist organization has failed for decades to prevent wars, genocides, human rights violations, and even pandemics,” - he said.

He also reminded about the scandal involving the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees and the organization of work, where some employees may have been involved in the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

About a dozen other Republicans have expressed support for the bill.
