Trump's advisor linked security guarantees for Ukraine with territorial concessions

Security guarantees for Ukraine should be part of a peace agreement in which Ukraine cedes part of the occupied territories to Russia.

This was stated by U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz during a broadcast on CNN.

He also believes that it is premature to discuss the security guarantees that Ukraine is seeking. According to him, for peace, both sides will have to make concessions and compromises.

"This war needs to end, and that will require territorial concessions. It will require concessions from Russia regarding security guarantees. We cannot get any specifics from the Ukrainians, but it is clear that there will be some territorial concession in exchange for future security guarantees, which were discussed in previous rounds of [negotiations]".

Mike Waltz also noted that the guarantees must be permanent and led by Europe.

The Tampa advisor further added that the U.S. can no longer "continue to provide billions and billions endlessly" to Ukraine.
