The Russian Federation is amassing forces at Kinburn Spit to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from crossing the Dnieper River.

Russian occupation troops are building up their strength in the Kinburn Spit area to maintain defense and prevent the Ukrainian Defense Forces from crossing the Dnieper.

This was stated by Colonel Vladislav Voloshin, a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, during a national telethon.

"According to our intelligence, they are likely gathering forces there to bolster their defense. They are enhancing fortifications and relocating defensive weapons to prevent the Ukrainian Defense Forces from crossing the Dnieper, landing troops at Tendrovskaya and Kinburn Spit, especially at Kinburn, and to maintain control over this mouth of the Dnieper and the Dnieper Islands, where fierce battles are currently taking place."

Regarding the situation at the Antonovsky Bridge over the Dnieper, which connects Kherson with the left bank, Voloshin assured that the enemy is practicing crossing actions with small infantry groups, and large-scale crossings of the water barrier are not currently being considered.

"They are training... but these are crossing actions by small infantry groups, consisting of up to a platoon. They are also involving riverboats from their Dnieper flotilla in these exercises. They are attempting to conduct assault actions with small infantry groups on land in the steppe zone, and they want to try to do something similar in this river and island area of the Dnieper."
