Drunken son of a deputy: the identity of the person responsible for the car accident in the center of Mykolaiv has been revealed.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander involved in a drunk driving accident in the center of Mykolaiv has been identified as Dmitry Topchiy.

According to details on his Facebook page, Dmitry Topchiy is the head of the REO at the Mykolaiv Zoo.

Moreover, Dmitry Topchiy is not just an employee of the Mykolaiv Zoo. His father — the zoo's director, Mykolaiv city council deputy, and member of the mayor's faction "Propozitsiya", Vladimir Topchiy.

After the accident, police took Dmitry Topchiy for testing at the drug laboratory on Volodarskogo Street. According to unofficial reports, he registered 2.25 permille on the "Drager" breathalyzer, which is roughly equivalent to having consumed one bottle of vodka.

As reported, the accident involving Dmitry Topchiy occurred on the evening of Friday, November 1, on Sadova Street in Mykolaiv. The Mitsubishi Outlander he was driving, traveling on Sadova Street from Potemkinska Street towards Chkalova Street, collided with a parked Renault Sandero at the curb. As a result of the accident, the female driver of the Renault, who was inside the vehicle at the time of the impact, was injured and was taken away from the scene by an ambulance.
