After the war, the number of veterans is expected to exceed 1.5 million, - head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council
On January 9, a meeting was held at the Mykolaiv Regional Council to discuss the development of a regional program to support veterans for the years 2025-2027. This program aims to provide proper conditions for the social adaptation, rehabilitation, and integration of veterans into civilian life.
This information was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.
During the meeting, participants discussed the involvement of public organizations, veterans, and specialists in creating a program that aligns with the veteran policy strategy. Additionally, there are plans to establish a veterans' council within the regional council.
“By the end of the war, preliminary estimates suggest that there will be more than 1.5 million veterans, and together with their family members, the total will be around 10 million people. These individuals defended us, and we must do everything possible to assist them in reintegrating into all aspects of life,” noted Anton Tabunshchik, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.
