Preparation for the Russian army's advance on Kherson: details reported by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are attempting to establish a foothold in the island zone near Kherson. The occupiers are conducting assaults in this direction.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, in a comment to "Suspilne".

According to him, during the assaults, the enemy is trying to capture a specific bridgehead to concentrate as many forces and resources of Ukrainian fighters there as possible. However, all these assaults have been unsuccessful.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian military forces are currently preparing assault groups specialized in crossing water obstacles. Training is taking place at training grounds located in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

To practice tactics, boats from the so-called Dnipro flotilla are being utilized. Part of this unit was relocated to the Tendrovskaya and Kinburnskaya spits as early as the beginning of autumn. During the exercises, the Russians are practicing the transfer of landing groups and the crossing of water obstacles by small infantry units.
