Main Points from Trump's Inaugural Address

Donald Trump has officially become the 47th president of the United States of America. On January 20, he took the oath of office and assumed his position.

The key points from his inaugural speech were published by Focus.

At the beginning of his address, he acknowledged all former presidents present at the ceremony and then declared the start of a "golden era" for America. He also mentioned that over the past eight years, he faced "trials and challenges" more than any president in U.S. history.

"My life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again. I will be the person who establishes peace around the world. I will measure strength not only by the battles we have won but by the wars we have ended. My greatest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier," Trump stated.

Main Points of Donald Trump's Speech:

  • Donald Trump promised that today, January 20, he would sign a series of historic presidential orders.
  • He pledged to declare a state of emergency at the southern border (the U.S.-Mexico border) and initiate "the process of returning millions of criminal aliens to where they came from." The president also announced the deployment of troops to the southern border to stop the "invasion" of illegal migrants.
  • He stated that instead of taxing its own citizens, the U.S. would impose tariffs and taxes on foreign nations to enrich its citizens and create an external tax service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues. He believes this will bring in substantial amounts of money from foreign sources.
  • He promised to sign an executive order to end government censorship and restore freedom of speech in America.
  • He mentioned that the U.S. would increase oil production and lower energy costs, exporting them worldwide.
  • He declared that from this day forward, the official U.S. policy is that there are only two genders—male and female.
  • He promised to rename the Strait of Magellan and expressed a desire to "claim" the Panama Canal and raise the American flag on Mars.
  • He asserted that the U.S. would build the best army in the world and expand. "The U.S. will expand. Our ancestors crossed oceans, deserts, we conquered immense mountains, we conquered space, we split the atom. There’s nothing America cannot do," Trump said.

During the inauguration, the 47th president of the U.S. did not mention Ukraine or his promise to end the war in 24 hours.
