The occupier tortured a resident of Mykolaiv region, demanding information about her son who is a soldier.

To obtain information for the benefit of the occupying forces, the suspect, in collusion with other Russian military personnel, tortured and abused a civilian.

This was reported by the police  and prosecutor's office  of Mykolaiv region.

The occupier was identified by investigators from the investigative department with the involvement of specialists from the criminal analysis department of the regional police and procedural guidance from the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office. At the time of the crime, the perpetrator held the position of chief of intelligence for the 2nd self-propelled artillery division of the 205th separate motorized rifle Cossack brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.

During the investigation, law enforcement established that during the occupation of the Snihurivka territorial community, the suspect, along with other unidentified Russian military personnel, abducted a 44-year-old woman and subjected her to physical and psychological violence, as well as sought to intimidate Ukrainian military personnel, participants of ATO/JFO, and territorial defense forces.

Currently, under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office, investigators from the police department for investigating crimes committed in the context of armed conflict have notified the occupier in absentia of suspicion for illegal detention and cruel treatment of civilians (Article 8 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), which is punishable by up to 12 years imprisonment. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing.
