Prisoner exchange: 150 defenders of Ukraine have returned home.

On Wednesday, February 5th, another prisoner exchange took place between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

As reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, 150 of our defenders have returned home.

“Today is a good day for all of us. We are bringing back 150 of our defenders from Russian captivity. These are soldiers, sergeants, officers. Warriors of the Navy, who were captured in Mariupol and the Zaporizhzhia region, Air Force members, soldiers from the Air Assault and Ground Forces, National Guardsmen, border guards, territorial defense members, as well as a police officer. They all come from various fronts, but they share one thing in common: they fought for Ukraine.”

Some of these individuals had been in captivity for over two years. And today is a day for them and their families that will mean more than years of waiting. It is true happiness to see them home, alive, and free.

Thank you to everyone who is working towards the return of our people. I am grateful to our partners, especially the UAE, and to those who support us on this journey.

We are working to bring everyone back,” the head of state wrote on his Telegram channel.
