The head of OKP "Nikolaevoblteploenergo," Nikolai Logvinov, stated that some residents may be dissatisfied with the installation of a charging station in an area where they previously parked their cars. Therefore, in his opinion, some of the discontented individuals might have cut the charging wires.
He shared this information during a briefing held on Thursday, February 6.
- At certain locations, I understand why the wires were cut; people were, so to speak, struggling financially. In other instances, I believe it was simply vandalism. People have become accustomed to parking their vehicles there, and the charging station was just an inconvenience for them. Unfortunately, this does happen. We all express a desire to live in Europe, to live in cleanliness, and to have a beautiful and flourishing city. But unfortunately, some individuals act this way… I frequently travel around the city, visiting our water distribution points and charging stations, and I see cars parked where they shouldn't be, - said the head of the enterprise.
He also noted that all charging stations will be equipped with cameras in the future to document acts of vandalism. In locations where cameras have already been installed, the cutting of charging cables has ceased.
- There aren't as many cameras installed as we would like because they also come at a cost. They will be set up at all charging stations. Yes, the installation of cameras has helped - the cutting has stopped, - concluded the head of OKP.
At one charging station, vandals cut the cables several times.
As a result, the management of "Nikolaevoblteploenergo" made the decision to install cameras near the stations.
