In Mykolaiv region, a local man attacked employees of the regional energy company with a grenade.

Yesterday, February 5, employees of the regional energy company contacted the police of the Radsadov community. They arrived at the home of a local resident to inform him about a potential electricity disconnection due to unpaid debts. However, the man reacted aggressively and began threatening them with an object resembling a grenade.

This was reported by the police of Mykolaiv region.

Police and explosives experts arrived at the scene. During a search of the 48-year-old man's house, they discovered two grenades — one live and one training, as well as nearly a kilogram of plant-based narcotics.

The man claims that he kept the drugs for personal use and that he simply found the grenades.

He was arrested and taken to the police station. He now faces criminal charges under two articles: for the illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, as well as for the possession of narcotics without intent to distribute.

All substances found have been sent for examination. Further decisions will be made based on the results.

In coordination with the prosecutor's office, the man has already been formally charged. If his guilt is proven, he could face up to seven years in prison.
