It's difficult to revoke the driver's licenses of draft dodgers under the new law, says lawyer
Revoking the driver's licenses of those evading military service under the law aimed at tightening mobilization is extremely challenging. Currently, there have been no recorded cases of this in Ukraine.
This was stated by military lawyer Taras Borovsky in an interview with the "Novini.LIVE" channel.
The process for revoking licenses is as follows: a citizen receives a summons, and if they do not collect it, a fine is imposed. If the fine is not paid, the summons is sent again, and the citizen is declared wanted. The local officer checks their registration address, notes their absence, and forwards the documents to the TCC. From that point, military recruitment offices have only one month to file an administrative lawsuit in court to revoke the driver's license. Moreover, the lawsuit must be individually drafted by a TCC lawyer for each citizen, which takes about three hours of work. And there will be thousands of such lawsuits.
"The TCC lawyers, who are often preoccupied with counting bribes, simply do not have time for this," Borovsky noted.
He also added that in court, the citizen can provide their testimony, and the lawsuit may be dismissed or left unconsidered.
