Zelensky is open to discussions with Putin if the U.S. and Europe "do not abandon" Ukraine
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are feasible. However, it is crucial to have security guarantees from Western partners.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with the British broadcaster ITV News.
Zelensky mentioned that he would be willing to engage in any format of negotiations with Russia if he had a clear understanding that the U.S. and Europe would not forsake Ukraine.
"If I had the assurance that America and Europe would not abandon us, and they would support us and provide us with security guarantees, I would be ready for any format of negotiations," the president emphasized.
It is worth noting that earlier in the same interview, the Ukrainian president highlighted that the end of Russia's war against Ukraine by 2025 is possible.
