All major mobile operators in Ukraine have increased their tariffs
All three leading mobile operators in Ukraine: Kyivstar, Vodafone, and lifecell announced tariff increases over the past month.
lifecell will be the last to implement this change in February.
“All operators have felt the rise in electricity costs. Over the past year, it has nearly doubled. This year, we are budgeting 2.3 billion UAH for this. Thanks to cost optimization, we will manage to keep this to half of what economic conditions demand,” says the CEO of the holding.
The price revision will not affect new customers who transferred their number to lifecell since December.
Earlier, in December 2024, the mobile operator Kyivstar increased its service charges by an average of 25%.
This is related to the economic situation and the costs of providing the network with alternative energy sources.
To compensate for such a significant price hike, subscribers will receive more minutes for calls to other networks, additional gigabytes of mobile internet, and the option to connect extra unlimited services.
Some tariff plans will be discontinued, requiring subscribers to switch to new ones.
The last time Kyivstar raised its tariffs was just six months ago, in April-May 2024.
Another Ukrainian mobile operator, Vodafone, also announced a sharp increase in its service costs earlier.
Vodafone reported that starting December 24, the prices of four of its tariffs will rise by 70-120 UAH: Joice Start from 200 to 270 UAH, Turbo from 180 to 270 UAH, Joice Max from 330 to 450 UAH, and Joice Pro from 200 to 270 UAH.
