Russians have destroyed an energy facility in Zaporizhzhia, leaving 21,000 subscribers without electricity, and another 17,000 subscribers without heating.
This was reported during a live broadcast by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.
According to him, the attack began at 21:50. The enemy targeted the city with Shahed drones. Six drones damaged an industrial facility and destroyed the energy facility. As a result, 21,000 subscribers lost power, including critical infrastructure facilities such as heating plants, healthcare institutions, and social protection buildings.
It is noted that due to the air raid alert, energy workers and rescuers were unable to begin addressing the aftermath for several hours. The alert lasted a total of 6.5 hours.
After the energy workers started dealing with the consequences of the enemy drone attacks, two hours later, at four in the morning, the enemy launched four missiles at the city. The type of missiles is being determined. Once the air raid alert sounded, the missiles reached the city within just 3.5 minutes. The enemy struck the same facility that had been damaged earlier by the drones. Unfortunately, personnel involved in restoring the energy supply and conducting rescue operations were injured, Fedorov reported.
Additionally, one residential building was destroyed, and several others were damaged.
The head of the Regional Military Administration described the situation in the city as critical. Currently, more than 17,000 subscribers are without heating. All utility services are operational on the ground. Points of invincibility have been established.
