Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has died. He celebrated his one hundredth birthday this year.
This was reported by the Washington Post, referencing Carter's son.
Carter served as president from 1977 to 1981 and was a member of the Democratic Party. He subsequently lost the election to Ronald Reagan.
Carter was the oldest living president in U.S. history.
