In Ukraine, there are plans to resume operations at several airports
In Ukraine, the reopening of several airports is scheduled for 2025.
This was announced by the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, as reported by the publication Your City.
Andriy Sadovyi emphasized that the country's presence on the aviation map is crucial for its international security. He cited the example of Israel, where during the war, Tel Aviv's airport remained the only connection between the city and the outside world.
"And this was a personal responsibility. Thank God, no aircraft were shot down. All planes of the Israeli airline are equipped with special equipment under the wings, used in case there is any threat of an attack, etc., to survive and continue living during wartime," he said.
Lviv Airport named after Danylo Halytsky is exploring the possibility of opening civilian flight routes during the state of martial law while ensuring safety. A passenger evacuation plan has been developed, and training exercises are being conducted. In November of last year, foreign media, including Reuters, reported that Kyiv is in talks with European aviation authorities and airlines to resume air travel in 2025.
