A statement was made in Russia regarding Ukraine's participation in negotiations.
Ukraine will take part in the negotiations aimed at ending the war, but the primary interlocutor on this matter will be the United States.
This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in a comment to Channel One on Thursday, February 13.
"One way or another, of course, Ukraine will participate in the negotiations. There will certainly be a bilateral Russian-American track in this dialogue, as well as a track that will, of course, involve Ukraine," - Peskov added.
He also clarified that during yesterday's phone call between Putin and Trump, "the legal status of Vladimir Zelensky was not discussed."
Furthermore, the possible involvement of Europe in the negotiations was not addressed. According to Peskov, Europeans will "need to talk to Washington to somehow secure their place."
"As we certainly understand, our main interlocutor in this process is Washington," - he added.
Today, Zelensky expressed his opinion that Trump first called Putin, and then – him.
