The Rada has revealed when martial law will be lifted and elections will be held in Ukraine
Conducting elections in Ukraine is only possible after the conclusion of martial law, and there are specific conditions for this.
This was stated on the air of Radio NV by MP from "Servant of the People," member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Fedor Venislavsky.
In response to a question about holding elections after the end of martial law and under what circumstances it may conclude, Venislavsky reminded that the legal regime of martial law is introduced not only when active hostilities are ongoing but also when there is a threat.
"Therefore, as long as the threats that endanger our security, the safety of our citizens, territorial integrity, and state sovereignty are not eliminated, the cancellation of the legal regime of martial law is highly unlikely," the parliamentarian stated.
Venislavsky added that discussing this matter is currently very difficult, as it depends on numerous factors. He noted that Russia is attempting to exert pressure on all fronts: in the south, east, and Donbas.
"Thus, to understand when the legal regime of martial law will conclude, I would recommend waiting until at least the end of February, when we will receive not only political statements from President Trump and his top political leadership but also concrete actions. Because much will depend on the specific measures that the administration of the United States will take in relation to Russia, what signals they will send, what they should and shouldn’t do," the MP emphasized.
