A new commander has been appointed to the Mykolaiv Territorial Defense Brigade

Colonel Oleg Makukha has been appointed as the commander of the Mykolaiv 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade.

This was announced by the 123rd TDF on their Facebook page.

— The respect and trust of military personnel towards their commanders (superiors) and their support, including from high-ranking military-political leaders, is formed when they understand the tasks and processes in which they are involved. When they feel respected and have the opportunity to express their opinions, regardless of whether they are accepted or not. People can clearly sense when they are treated as equals and when they are despised. Even worse is when they are feared. No amount of threats or punishments will earn you respect, — emphasized the brigade.

Background:

Colonel Oleg Makukha is a career military officer who has been engaged in combat operations since 2014.

With the onset of the full-scale invasion, he was appointed as the chief of staff of the newly formed 4th Separate Tank Brigade and later took command of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade.

In 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded him the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of II and III degrees.
