The incidence of influenza, ARVI, and COVID-19 is rising in the Mykolaiv region.

As of the 50th week of 2024 (December 9-15, 2024), the incidence of ARVI, including COVID-19, in the Mykolaiv region is 254.5 per 100,000 population (2,777 people fell ill during the week, including 28 with COVID-19), which is 5.7% higher than the previous week.

This information was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Among the child population, there has been a 6.4% increase in the incidence (1,637 cases compared to 1,538 cases two weeks ago), while among adults, the increase is 4.6% (1,140 cases compared to 1,090).

The proportion of sick children accounted for 58.9% of all cases, with the highest incidence rates among children under 4 years old (30.7% of all sick children) and those aged 5-14 years (53.9%).

Currently, there is no registered exceedance of the epidemic threshold in Ukraine, and the incidence in the Mykolaiv region also does not exceed the epidemic threshold (the incidence level is 47.3% below the epidemic threshold).

The number of hospitalized individuals with COVID-19 is proportional to the incidence rate; however, the number of severe cases admitted to intensive care units is relatively low, averaging only 5-6%.

During the past week, 105 individuals were hospitalized with influenza and ARVI, including 4 people with COVID-19. Of these, 1 was admitted to intensive care.

No fatalities due to influenza have been registered.

At the same time, from the consequences of COVID-19, 7 people have died in the Mykolaiv region since August 19, 2024. All deceased individuals were elderly (4 from Mykolaiv city, 1 from the Pervomaisk district, and 2 from the Bashtanka district), who had underlying health conditions and had not been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease in the past year. No fatalities have been registered in the last 8 weeks.
