In the Mykolaiv region, a drunken man stabbed his acquaintance in the back
In the Mykolaiv region, medical personnel informed law enforcement that a woman had been admitted with a stab wound to her back.
The incident occurred in the Voznesensk district, as reported by the communication department of the Mykolaiv police.
At the scene, the investigative operational group from the district police established that a 40-year-old man and his 56-year-old acquaintance were consuming alcoholic beverages together. Subsequently, a quarrel broke out between them, during which the assailant stabbed the victim.
The injured woman was taken to the hospital. Currently, she is in a medical facility.
Police seized the weapon used in the crime—a knife—and sent it for forensic examination.
Officers brought the assailant to the police station, where investigators detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Police investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Voznesensk district prosecutor's office, informed the detainee of his suspicion of committing a crime under part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Intentional serious bodily harm." The sanctions of this article provide for a penalty of imprisonment for up to eight years.
