There is a shortage of doctors in Mykolaiv region: it became known which ones are lacking
The issue of staffing remains one of the most pressing problems in the healthcare sector of Mykolaiv region.
This was reported at a briefing on Wednesday, January 15, by acting head of the health department of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Irina Tkachенко.
According to her, the shortage of doctors in Mykolaiv region is about 1,200, which is approximately 32% of the total number.
Furthermore, over 850 doctors, or 31%, are over the age of 60.
The situation is most critical with infectious disease specialists, phthisiatricians, and a number of pediatric specialists—including pathologists, nephrologists, and anesthesiologists.
