A nine-story building caught fire in broad daylight in Mykolaiv (video).

On Friday, January 31, firefighters were alerted to a blaze in an apartment on the 5th floor of a nine-story building in the Ingul district of Mykolaiv.

This information was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region.

A crew from the 4th State Fire and Rescue Unit, consisting of three divisions, along with the duty shift of the operational coordination center, was dispatched to the scene.

It was discovered that a boiler in a three-room apartment had caught fire, along with household items. Upon arrival of the unit, the fire covered an area of 5 square meters.

Fortunately, the residents of the apartment managed to evacuate on their own, while firefighters assisted three residents from neighboring apartments to reach safety.

A total of 11 firefighters and 4 units of emergency service equipment were involved in the operation. The likely cause of the fire is an electrical short circuit.
