On Sunday, December 29, a large-scale event took place in Mykolaiv to support prisoners of war and those missing in action.
This was reported by a correspondent from "Novosti-N".
Relatives and friends of those held captive in Russia marched along Soborna Street to the main square, where the rally of the "We Are the Voices of the Captives" campaign was held.
Symbolic light figures representing those who cannot sit with their families at holiday tables were set up in the square.
There was also a banner where attendees could leave their messages and wishes for the prisoners of war, expressing support for their families.
More than a hundred people participated in the event.
Famed Ukrainian singer Oleksandr Surkov came to support the participants.
He addressed the families of those held captive in Russia, many of whom have been imprisoned for over two years. The singer also performed one of his most famous songs, "Into the Sky with Smoke," written in memory of those who fell in the war.
Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych also spoke at the rally. He urged everyone not to forget those who are in captivity.
