In Mykolaiv, unknown individuals set the courthouse building on fire (photo)

On the evening of Sunday, January 5, a fire broke out in the administrative premises of the courthouse in Mykolaiv.

This was reported by the police of the Mykolaiv region.

At approximately 20:50 yesterday, January 5, the police received a notification from the State Emergency Service regarding a fire at the courthouse's administrative premises on Samoylovicha Street.

At the scene, the investigative team from police station No. 3 of the Mykolaiv district administration determined that a room in the courthouse building was damaged by the fire. The fire was extinguished by firefighters.

From the site, police collected fragments of burning materials and other physical evidence for examination.

Based on this incident, investigators have initiated a pre-trial investigation under part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Intentional damage to property committed by arson," which is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years.

Law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation, determining all circumstances surrounding the property damage and identifying those involved in the crime.
