On Tuesday, January 14, the municipal enterprise "Mykolaiv Electric Transport" began testing a new trolleybus route.
This was reported by the company's press service.
Employees of the municipal enterprise conducted a test run along the new route to the Matveyevka neighborhood. This procedure is part of the preparation for launching each new route.
“Specialists check if there is enough battery reserve for operation on the route, inspect access to transport stops, and determine turning points for the vehicles.
Additionally, they measure travel time between stops for further schedule creation. Announcements for all transport stops are being prepared, along with filling out the text informant present in each unit of electric transport. And this is far from the complete list of tasks involved in preparing for the launch of each new route,” the statement said.
The director of "Mykolaiv Electric Transport," Yuriy Smetana, mentioned that initially, 4 trolleybuses are planned to operate on this route.
"We will now create a schedule based on the data collected during our test run. The trolleybus will run from Matveyevka to the "Mykolaiv Cargo" railway station. Additionally, throughout the day, several trolleybuses will make stops at the Matveyevka Cemetery - this time will be specifically highlighted in our schedules," stated director Yuriy Smetana.
It is expected that "Mykolaiv Electric Transport" will start its full operation on this route as early as February. It is noted that the Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council still needs to approve the new route.
