On the morning of Wednesday, December 25, a fire broke out in an apartment on the sixth floor of a nine-story residential building on General Oleksy Almazov Street in Mykolaiv.
The report was made to the emergency hotline 101 around 10:00, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
Units from the 2nd State Fire and Rescue Division and the duty shift of the Operational Coordination Center of the Main Directorate quickly arrived at the scene.
During the reconnaissance, firefighters found a woman approximately 60 years old in one of the rooms. Rescuers evacuated her to fresh air and provided emergency assistance as a priority. Upon the arrival of the ambulance teams, doctors performed resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately, they were unable to save her.
The fire was extinguished within half an hour, covering an area of 10 square meters, and the cause is currently under investigation.
