Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, announced that the Ministry has not received reports of cases of abuse against the military in the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was reported by Lazutkin in a comment to "Radio Liberty".

"We cannot say that this is a widespread phenomenon, but it is undoubtedly a disgraceful occurrence that contradicts the fundamental principles of the development of the modern Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian military consists of over a million servicemen. Various incidents do occur. We have not had information about these cases," he stated.

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, following an investigation by "Ukrainska Pravda" regarding extortion and abuse of military personnel in the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade, declared that, by his order, the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense will investigate these facts.
