Ukrainians are actively leaving Poland: what is the reason?

Recent data from the European Statistical Office indicates an increase in the number of Ukrainian citizens departing from Poland to Germany. Germany has become one of the EU countries where Ukrainians are moving in large numbers.

This is reported by the publication inPoland.

One of the primary reasons for relocating to Germany is the higher wage levels. Additionally, Germany is attractive to refugees due to better social benefits and higher quality healthcare services.

Meanwhile, educational reforms, stricter access conditions to social programs, and economic factors in Poland have become decisive elements for this wave of migration.

It is noteworthy that the Eurostat report indicates that at the end of last year, over 1.14 million Ukrainian citizens had temporary protection status in Germany, accounting for 27.2% of the total such statuses in the European Union. In contrast, the number of Ukrainian refugees in Poland has decreased to nearly 984,000 individuals, down from over 1.3 million in 2022. The Czech Republic ranks third in terms of the number of accepted Ukrainians, providing refuge to 379,000 individuals.

Overall, there is a trend of Ukrainians moving from Central and Eastern European countries to the Western and Southern parts of the continent.
