Ukraine is working on creating its own versions of the American Patriot air defense system.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference on Sunday, February 23.

"We are addressing these issues, working on air defense systems, and developing Ukrainian analogs. I won't say anything more," - commented the head of state on the potential refusal of the USA to send new Patriot systems to Ukraine.

The president added that not all Patriot systems have yet arrived in Ukraine since the comprehensive decision made at the NATO summit in Washington in July 2024.

"Unfortunately, these are the terms regarding the Patriot systems. I am not even talking about new systems, but about the systems we agreed upon," - noted Zelensky.

At the same time, the president emphasized that Ukraine hopes military assistance will continue and is discussing with Europe an increase in funding for Ukrainian domestic production.
