Ukraine and the Russian Federation are reportedly prepared to hold negotiations.

This was stated by the future U.S. special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Kit Kellogg, during an appearance on Fox News.

Kellogg was asked: "It seems that both sides of the war are close to exhaustion; isn't it time for peace negotiations?"

"Absolutely, I think both sides are ready. Imagine a cage fight. Both fighters are ready to give up. You need a referee to separate them. And I believe President Trump can do that," Kellogg said.

He noted that the current situation is characterized by a war of attrition, where the casualty ratio between Ukraine and Russia is approximately 1 to 5.

"After a thousand days of war, with around 350 or 400 thousand dead Russians and 150 thousand dead Ukrainians or similar figures, both sides are saying, 'Perhaps it is time to step back,'" he emphasized.

Kellogg expressed his belief that it is Trump who can bring the war to an end.
