Three dead and two injured: a head-on collision occurred between a Kia and a Volkswagen in Mykolaiv region.

Three dead, two injured: Kіа and Volkswagen collided head-on in Mykolaiv region

In the early hours of Thursday, January 2, a traffic accident occurred on the road "Kalynivka-Snihyrivka" in the Mykolaiv region involving Kіа Sorento and Volkswagen Polo vehicles.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv regional police.

At approximately 00:30 on the "Kalynivka-Snihyrivka" road, near the village of Partizanske in the Mykolaiv district, a traffic collision took place involving Kіа Sorento and Volkswagen Polo.

As a result of the collision, the driver and two passengers of the Volkswagen Polo suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The 45-year-old driver of the Kіа and his 30-year-old passenger were hospitalized with varying degrees of bodily injuries.

Investigators have classified the incident as a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by persons managing vehicles, resulting in the death of several people." The penalty for this article includes up to ten years of imprisonment and revocation of the right to drive for up to three years.

The police are determining all circumstances and causes of the incident.
