As part of the project regarding military service under contract for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24, volunteers may be denied due to health issues.
This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Dmitry Lazutkin during a broadcast on Radio Liberty.
According to him, brigade representatives will primarily select those who can fulfill the tasks outlined in the standard positions.
"This depends on the brigade representatives who will be carrying out this recruitment part. It's clear that if there is some inadequate person, let's say, with a shaky psyche, they could be dangerous in the unit. And it’s unlikely they would be allowed to sign a contract. They will be assembling, so to speak, a team that fits them," Lazutkin explained.
He added that volunteers will be able to pass the military medical commission (MMC) out of turn at medical facilities of their choice.
"These points are specified in the resolution, and there will be no issues with queues or any nuances. A person who is psychologically ready to join the army usually goes through the MMC quite quickly, provided they don't have any serious health problems," the spokesman noted.
