According to Chuchmay, on January 8, Nataliya Barchuk claimed that he threatened her with physical harm.

“Dear residents of Mykolaiv, yesterday, January 8, 2025, state environmental inspector Nataliya Barchuk accused me of threatening her with physical harm. I declare to you that this is an absolute lie. It has never happened. Therefore, I ask Nataliya Barchuk to publicly retract this statement and apologize. If this does not happen, I will be forced to go to court. Thank you,” noted Dmytro Chuchmay.

On the morning of Wednesday, January 8, workers from the municipal enterprise "Mykolaiv Parks" resumed tree trimming on Sobornaya Street in Mykolaiv. Police, staff from the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southwestern District, and director Dmytro Chuchmay arrived at the scene. The police halted the tree trimming work.
