The head of the Anti-Terrorism Center at the SBU turned out to be an agent of the Russian Federation.
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a traitor within its ranks who was working for Russian intelligence. The operation was personally led by SBU chief Vasily Malyuk.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
According to sources from RBK-Ukraine, the traitor was identified as Colonel Dmitry Kozyura, the head of the Anti-Terrorism Center at the SBU.
According to the agency, the traitor was the head of the SBU's Anti-Terrorism Center. Malyuk stated that the SBU documented 14 instances of the "rat's" illegal activities.
It is known that Malyuk was personally involved in the operational investigative group that was working on the traitor's case and led the operation to detain him. He reported on all stages of the operation to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"It was an extremely complex development and subsequent multi-step implementation, during which we used all possible overt and covert forms and methods of our activities, as well as the full range of operational and technical measures," Malyuk explained.
According to him, thanks to such programs, it was possible to penetrate the traitor's devices - mobile terminals and computers. This allowed for the documentation of the collection and transfer of relevant information to the enemy by the traitor.
Additionally, through the traitor, the SBU transmitted disinformation to the enemy for an extended period: first within the framework of counterintelligence activities, and then as part of criminal proceedings.
"The SBU's self-cleansing continues. No matter how much the enemy tries to infiltrate our ranks - believing they possess all possible forms and methods of conspiracy - they will not succeed. Because we identify, document, and detain them in a timely manner," said Vasily Malyuk.
