On the morning of January 15, Russia once again launched a massive bombardment of Ukraine. The first explosions were heard in Kharkiv, and alerts are now sounding across the country.

A series of explosions in Kharkiv began around 06:08. At that moment, military reports indicated the detection of cruise missiles in the region. Additionally, ballistic missiles were launched from the Belgorod region. Missile detection is ongoing.

It is noteworthy that just a few hours before the alerts and initial explosions, Russia deployed groups of strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation.

Since the beginning of today’s alerts, enemy missiles have already been detected in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions.

"Air defense is operating near Cherkasy and in the surrounding area," reports “Suspilne”.

Just minutes earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force urged residents of the city to seek shelter as a Russian cruise missile was heading towards the populated area.

Poland has scrambled combat aircraft in response to Russia's strikes on targets, particularly in western Ukraine.

"In accordance with current procedures, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has mobilized all available forces and resources at its disposal, additional pairs of fighters have been launched into the air, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance units have been placed on high alert," stated the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
